Soaring like an Eagle: Yankee Godzilla Matsui
Remember Hedeki Matsui who brought the New York Yankee to win the World Series this year?
He is the first Japanese person to receive the MVP award. He was so focused at the batting box that his strange habit of never-do-empty-swing once he positioned himself at the plate, got America’s attention.
Did Matsui soar like a Eagle every time he hit his ball that day ? He was so certain he was going to bring his team a trophy that Matsui declared this in June, back in Japan, to a close supporter of his — a restaurant owner, who helped build his stamina with great food when he was young and new to the Yomiuri Giants Team, ” I will explode!” Meaning he is ready to accomplish his dream and goals. He sat too long and watched other team mates play while he recovered from a knee injury that prevented from participating. It was too painful for him and his position was at stake to remain in Yankee. His goal is to remain with the Yankees. He stayed humble and focused the night after he accomplished winning the World Series. He loved New York, Yankees, team mates and fans. He appreciated them so much he wanted give back more to New York. Matsui knew it was not just his intention that could bring this goal. His mentor reminded Matsui “ You got this results because you overcame God given challenges “ He knows it is up to God to keep him or move him somewhere else.
Tomorrow the world will learn the results of the Yankee corporation’s decision to keep the MVP Godzilla Hideki Matsui or let him go.
