Are hot springs your favorite retreat?

Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel is one of my favorite relaxation hangout spots. It is in San Diego County, in a valley that’s at a high-desert altitude of almost 3000 feet. It has two outdoor sulfur mineral hot springs pools and one small indoor Jacuzzi pool. This motel is a bit rustic and very casual yet has a restaurant, a bar and old tennis court. It is popular place for foreigners who appreciate mineral hot springs water. Striking up a conversation with strangers in a small Jacuzzi is always interesting. I love to sit in the mineral hot water of the back pool and look up at the blue sky and beautiful pine trees. Very nurturing place. The back pool is never crowded and usually quiet and always a very healing place to be. Every time I come out here I am amazed how healthy pine trees are in the middle of the high desert. The secret is they are watered by recycled mineral pool water. Hard to believe this area was Hollywood celebrity hang out back in 1930. Summer time is a great place to come out. Day use is so inexpensive. Traffic to and from San Diego is very light. Enjoy your stay!
